We are here to create fun and exciting books which represent a new and personal approach to how tales are told and shared. Leo House Press is Melbourne based, and lives by the motto, that each reader is a lifelong learner, that carries their own unique perspectives.
The name Leo House Press was chosen by its co-founders, Sarah and James who are expecting a little Leo star sign reader this August 2020. He will be our mascot for this new company.
The types of books and stories we aim to create include online animated content, as well as learning activities and video-based materials. We also hope to engage with our local and international communities for inspiration and collaboration.
Sarah is a warm, humorous dedicated educator and storyteller. She loves finding and sharing the beauty of people, nature and situations with others. She is an experienced teacher, having taught children aged 5 to 18 years and has used Reggio Emilia teaching, English as an Additional Language and Reading recovery skills and training.
She makes improv random ditties performed to her partner James and sometimes on YouTube and will eat fruit and chocolate snacks whenever she wants.
James’ favourite books as a child were Graeme Base’s 12th hour, as well as Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series. He is passionate about new technology, and as a trained engineer often designs and creates new inventions on the kitchen table. He comes from a family of early childhood and tertiary teachers. You may find him on a casual run around the Tan in Melbourne or having a quick kick of soccer with his partner Sarah in the park.
James is passionate about educating the next generation. He hopes they can be supported to learn how to innovate with new technology and have equitable access to literary works.
